Busan - Must Visit Places.

Busan stands as an essential destination for foreigners in Korea, boasting a distinctive atmosphere that sharply contrasts with the ambiance of Seoul. Busan is home to numerous one-of-a-kind and picturesque locations that offer experiences unavailable in the capital city Seoul. This article aims to offer insights into must-visit places in Busan, ensuring visitors encounter unique and unforgettable experiences.

1. Gwangalli Beach.

Gwangalli Beach, among the most renowned coastal destinations in Busan, distinguishes itself with its serene atmosphere and stunning scenery. It is particularly enchanting to explore during the evening hours. Visitors often come with their friends, lighting Bengal lights, capturing beautiful photographs, and immersing themselves in live music, as there are many people who come to play the guitar and sing songs. On one side of the road lies the beach, while the other side features a row of charming cafes and restaurants, creating a captivating vista in conjunction with the shoreline. Additionally, you can enjoy the view of a magnificent bridge and tall, contemporary buildings, which make it an ideal location for capturing numerous memorable moments.

2. Millac the Market.

If you've visited Gwangalli Beach, Millac the Market is a must-see, just a 10-minute walk from the beach, and it stands out from the traditional markets you might have encountered before.

Millac Market has modern vibes and they sell lots of visually appealing items starting from clothing and ending in furniture in this market. It’s giving exhibition vibes, so, even if you don’t buy anything, it is interesting to walk there and observe everything around. There are interesting paintings on the walls, photobooths, bubble ice-cream cups, and many other delightful attractions. Also, it is a great place for taking pictures.

3. Yudong Coffee (유동 커피).

This café has the atmoshphere of 18th century. It is a vintage café with royal vibes. It also gives some Harry Potter vibes. Grandiose stairs, splendid chandelier, royal windows and vintage piano. It is a perfect café to read a book, to study or just enjoy the atmosphere with a friend. They offer a wide range of drinks, cakes, cookies and even have coffee beans on sale. By the, Jongpo, the place where this café is located, is full of many other aesthetically pleasing cafes.

4. Gamcheon Culture Village.

I bet you heard about this place. It is a heart of Busan, most visited and most popular place among tourists. If you go to Busan and don’t visit Gamcheon Culture Village, it is the biggest loss. I recommend that you go there early in the morning before many tourists come. You need at least half of the day to spend there, so about 10 o’clock will be fine. Gamcheon village is famous for its colorful buildings, all of which are cafes and small shops. It is famous for its wall paintings, especially the famous painting of Jimin and Junkgook (BTS members). It is famous for the Little Prince monument. All the way along this village you will see many cute shops that sell literally everything. Also make sure to visit at least one or two cafes in Gamcheon village.

5. Blue House on the Stairs Cafe (카페계단위푸른집).

This is my favorite café in Gamcheon Village. It has an exceptionally beautiful interior. The main theme is the color blue and clouds. Even though the cafe is small, it is very silent and cosy. Clouds made of cotton hang from the ceiling and add exceptional vibes to the interior. The drinks are really tasty, the view to the village is just perfect and it’s a café for great Instagram pictures.

6. Huinnyeoul Village.

Busan is famous not only for Gamcheon Village, but also Huinnyeol Village. While these two villages share similarities with numerous themed cafes, intriguing stores, and picturesque spots for photography, Huinnyeoul Village stands out for its unique location across the sea, creating a distinctly different atmosphere. I suggest exploring both villages, but it's advisable to do so on separate days. Huinnyeoul village also requires at least half of the day to enjoy it completely and a morning visit is highly recommended.

7. Haeundae.

Haeundae is another famous street in Busan along the Haeundae Beach. It is a long wide street with hotels, convenient stores, cafes, restaurants, shops, karaoke places and so on. By the end of the street there is a large Haeundae beach. By the way, booking a hotel in Haeundae is a good choice. It is close to a metro station, to a beach and there are lots of places to see around.

There are too many great places to visit in Busan and 1 article is not enough to discuss them all. However, here I described my personal favorites. Busan is a beautiful place that helps refresh after the life in busy Seoul. Do not miss the opportunity to feel the atmosphere of Busan if you happen to visit South Korea.
